Dream Her Dreams

Tight harmonies. Beautiful melodies.

Kit Smith and Tanya Livingstone met twelve years ago, first performing together and eventually writing together as well.

This song, “Dream Her Dreams” from their debut album Central Connection is one of my favorites, and of course I’ll be featuring more of their work throughout the week. Enjoy!

Update

I wanted to take a quick second to fill you all in on some things you may have noticed.

Earlier this week UnicornMedia.com re-launched as Project Unicorn, leaving all Unicorn Media players dysfunctional. We are currently working on re-embedding these players, and they should be back up and running soon.

In the meantime, check out our newest posts on the re-designed player!

Thanks for your patience!

Here’s another one from Randall Kimball, “Whales”:

Soggy Old Town

Randall Kimball certainly has an interesting story to tell. He graduated from the University of California in Berkley and spent a great deal of time at the Keystone Tavern…listening to such greats as John Lee Hooker, Jerry Garcia, and the Kihn Band.

His first album was recorded with 3-time emmy winner Jeff Tassin…on which Kimball played his acoustic handmade Paragon guitars.

He’s a one man jam band, and this album is pretty fantastic. Check out one of my favorites, “Soggy Old Town:”

BlackDogHat: Somethings Are Worth Living For

Here’s another one from BlackDogHat, Somthings are Worth Fighting For. I like the simplicity of this video. What do you think?

Collaboration: Angels of Us

Today I’m bringing you a pretty moving music video.

A collaboration between musicians BlackDogHat and photographer Alexandros M, Angels of Us documents the riots in Athens after the death of Alexandros Grigoropoulos. The photography is pretty stunning.

Catch it:

When She Goes Away

Yesterday I mentioned that Woodward will be playing with Natives of the New Dawn at an upcoming show in March.

So I thought I’d bring you a little taste of what they’ve got.

Their version of When She Goes Away is pretty fantastic, and I knew I was a fan when I heard them play it live for the first time. Check it out:

They’ve got a pretty different sound…that hasn’t really gone mainstream yet…but they’re definitely making a splash on the indie scene.
